There will be an opportunity for the role to grow significantly in this time, with the Design Team keen to develop the in-house Landscape capabilities of the studios. Objectives

Design outstanding and site-responsive landscape designs that complement the architectural output.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the landscape design of a variety of high-end private residential projects;
  • Establish general landscape requirements with clients;
  • Create concept proposals and present to the design team;
  • Present proposals to clients, conduct preliminary studies of the site (including contours, soil, ecology, buildings, roads, heritage);
  • Assist with any Planning requirements, and carry out environmental impact assessments;
  • Accurately prepare and present detailed plans and working drawings of the re-design of the new site, including applications, construction details and specifications for the project using computer-aided design (CAD) packages or similar design software;
  • Deal with enquiries and negotiate any amendments to the final design;
  • Contact and coordinate manufacturers and suppliers;
  • Assist our QS’s with putting work out to tender, and selecting landscape contractors
  • Carry out site visits;
  • Ensure deadlines are met;
  • Liaise with the design team on the project and ensure proposals are fully co-ordinated;
  • Monitor and check work on-site, and authorise payment once work has been satisfactorily completed;

What you'll need

  • Degree or postgraduate level qualification in Landscape Architecture which is recognised by the Landscape Institute (LI)
  • Very strong hand drawn skills and artistic flair.
  • Strong technical capabilities, including understanding of materials, landscape detailing and tree/plant species.
  • Good communication skills and excellent client facing skills.
  • Good working site experience
  • Knowledge of Vectorworks desirable but not essential, training will be given.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Driving license and own car, Capesthorne Hall is not near to public transport.
