Highlights from Milan Design Week 2016
Janey Butler interiors explored the city by day, attended events and searched for the best pieces and brands. They met with existing suppliers to view their latest products and collections and also sourced new designers to collaborate with. Janey Butler Interiors is delighted to be adding exciting new designs to their collection over the coming months, including Italian brand Vibrazioni Art Design. This bold company creates striking pieces, which will be especially effective for commercial projects.
Janey fell in love with the rich colour palette many of the designers were using this year, including earthy tones, blues and greens. Green was particularly well represented from the soft muted tones of the iconic Molteni &C Gio Ponti Armchair to the deep bold green velvet sofas from Munna's latest collection. Many designers had also been inspired by the 1960's and 1970's with collections having a distinct retro feel to them.
Metallics including luxurious golds and bronzes sat side by side with opulent marble, in true Italian style. Gold was featured by Italian lighting brand Slamp who exhibited the 'Aria Gold' collection by the Late Zaha Hadid. A design which identifies with Hadid's work and brings an architectural feature to interior design schemes.
The trip was a huge success and a chance to network with some amazing designers at their exclusive invitation only events including Linteloo, Florim and Subzero Wolf who held their amazing party at the Radio Roof cocktail lounge in the heart of the city.
